BLACK MANNER MEETS MICHEL ONANA

1. Tell us about you ? Who are you and what do you do ? 

My name is Michel Onana (aka " the outfits_lover "). I am 24 years old, currently studying law. I'm a micro Fashion Influencer & content creator mainly on Instagram. 

2. Who or what is your source of inspiration ?

Apart from being inspired by myself, I am mainly inspired by the fashion shows of certain haute couture brands such as Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, Balmain or Rick Owens. Also certain artists, in particular singers such as Kanye West, Chris Brown, Lil NasX and Asap Rocky who are also a source of inspiration because for me they are great trend setters. Furthermore, I also sometimes draw inspiration from other content creators on Instagram when certain posts catch my eye. 

3. We really love your personal style. As a fashion blogger, what are your 3 favorite clothing brands ? and why ?

In terms of style I am quite versatile, that is to say that I do not exclude anything.  I am open to all types of styles. I like to create Street Wear style outfits as much as Casual, Minimal, Sports Wear, Chic-Casual and also Classy. I definitely have a particular preference for HypeBeast streetwear. 

I don't really pay attention to designers, but rather directly to brands they represent. My favorite haute couture brands are Amiri, Rick Owens, Moschino, Maison Margiela, Casablanca, Prada, Bottega Venetta, Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga. 

As for my usual online shopping, my favorite reference brands are Jaded London, Daily Paper, Manière De Voir, Asos Design or The Ragged Priest. All these are my favorite because of their authenticity and beauty. 

4. What motivated you to be in the world of fashion ?

Fashion can be something innate to me, it occupies a very big place in my life because it is above all a passion, from a very young age I have always been fascinated by beautiful clothes and fashion shows. Also, I am a manic person and therefore I always pay attention to the smallest details. Clearly, fashion is for me a real expression of my creative imagination 

5. Any tips  that you can give to a young person who wants to get into the fashion world ?

Would advise him to always take inspiration from his surroundings without necessarily copying everything, but above all adding his personal touch to styles he create. He must know that all work pays, so he must not be discouraged in everything he undertakes in fashion, or in another field. You have to be patient and persevering, and not take failures as an end, but rather as obstacles that will make you improve. Also, one must watch the fashion shows of high fashion brands as it will help improve their creativity. My last piece of advice is about online shopping : it's a good idea to subscribe to the News letter of your favorite online sites, because not only you will receive notifications of new pieces/collections, and you will also very often receive exclusive discounts by email. 

6. What’s next for you ? What are your future plans ?

For my future in fashion, I would like to become one of the biggest Instagram content creators nationally, as well as internationally. I'll also like to have the opportunity to do big collaborations with brands ( better than the ones i do now), and one day parade for one of my favorite haute couture brands. I also have the ambition later to create my own clothing line.

8. And the last question is, what does BLACK MANNER mean to you ?

It is a brand that, in addition to imposing its style, comes with a strong state of mind and brings out the combativeness, creativity and authenticity of an entire community; that of black people and with their whole history behind it.

The simple fact of having a clothing brand called BlackManner reminds the black community that they have an identity and should be proud of it. It also helps to restore confidence in the community. Moreover, it also represents support in the community (among blacks) so beyond buying items on the site, it is also a way for me to support a brother's project. This is what Black Manner means to me.
